This class is a practical, fun day, where you make your leadlight from a choice of several pre-drawn designs. Since 1981 students have enjoyed the one-day classes, and we know you will too. You will be proud of your achievements.

We are very privileged to have Mark Carpenter as our instructor, Mark has been lead lighting since 1981, creating beautiful works of art, and teaches these crafts in the Central Queensland region.

“While I still have the ability to travel, I would like to promote the craft again outside of the major regional centres. I want to be able to make the craft available to those who don’t usually get the opportunity to avail themselves of such tuition and experience. I have kept the lesson prices to a minimum to encourage participation in crafts” Mark said.

There are no more than eight people per class, which enables individual attention and instruction. Classes are designed as an introduction to the craft, and each student completes a project on the day. This is often a reference point for future projects and reminds students of the various processes taught. Classes are suitable for teenagers through to seniors. A reasonable amount of mobility and strength in the hands is required throughout the lead lighting process.

All the tools, materials, and equipment for the day are supplied, even designs, so there is no need for students to stress about not having an artistic bone in their body. Designs and ideas are readily available, but student’s creativity is encouraged. We usually carry extra stock and tools for those who want to purchase more products.
